Research theme
What is undernutrition? What consequences for older people? And how does what this population can eat to keep pleasure when the inabilities linked with age appear? Maintaining a good food intake and a good health need to adapt diet to bring the quantities of protein and calories needed without forgetting pleasure to eat, sometimes one the only pleasure.
For 23 years, CHUG has initiated studies with CSGA on dietary and nutritional strategies to improve meal enjoyment and food intake in older people in order to prevent malnutrition. Studies allowed also associating stakeholders including healthcare professionals (e.g. geriatrician, caregivers, nursing homes) and private companies (e.g. food industries, catering services, helpers structures), relationships who allowed to understand the constraints and the needs.
