The CSGA welcomes Xavier Fioramonti from the Bordeaux, France "Neurocampus", for a seminar, starting at 11:30 am in the conference room.
Xavier is the team "Brain Nutrient Sensing and Cognitive Trajectory from Development to Aging (NutriMind)" co-leader.
Starting at 11 a.m., the speaker and staff will meet for tea/coffee and pastries.

Background
The overall aim of the NutriMind team is to understand how food-derived molecules influence neuro-immune interactions and neural networks, cognition, and emotional and dietary behaviors.
The resulting knowledge aims to develop nutrient-based nutritional strategies to prevent and/or delay cognitive decline as part of a personalized nutrition strategy.
Speech's title
Impact of dietary fructose on neuroinflammation and brain health.
Summary
Fructose is a sugar naturally present in fruit, but also very present in soft drinks and industrial foods. As a result, its consumption has risen sharply in recent years.
The work presented at this seminar will show that fructose has a direct impact on the brain by acting on cells responsible for brain inflammation, which can lead to both anxiety and memory problems.
Fructose also disrupts intestinal flora, which may contribute to the development of brain disorders.
These findings show that fructose consumption should be taken into account in dietary recommendations.
