Speech's title

Taste, sentinel of homeostasis

Summary

Taste is an essential element in maintaining homeostasis, defined as the maintenance of the body's equilibrium.

Within GustaBrain’s team, Drosophila melanogaster is used as a model to try to better understand the sense of taste. More specifically, what information does this message convey?

In this seminar, the speakers will explain how the sense of taste helps build the immune system, but also how taste perception is modulated by our experience.

This work is part of research demonstrating that the sense of taste is not only hedonic information that controls our eating behavior, but that it adapts and, through its predictive value, triggers appropriate physiological anticipatory responses.
