Activities

Research theme

Jules is a research engineer at INRAE. He is interested in studying how insects respond to environmental stimuli, particularly their behavior in response to chemical signals. In his previous research, he first studied species interactions in Drosophila, then the behavioral response of Varroa destructor—the primary parasite of the honeybee—to various acaricides. This work enabled him to learn how to use various techniques in behavioral ecology as well as phenotypic and morphological analysis through the implementation of different experimental setups. He is currently continuing this work within the GustaBrain team, using Drosophila melanogaster as a model to study behavioral responses triggered by chemical signals and the mechanisms involved in their perception and integration.
