Research theme
Stéphane's primary focus is studying the effect of sweet taste on energy uncoupling and its impact on feeding behavior and metabolism in Drosophila. He expertly utilizes various tools, including molecular biology (molecular engineering, qPCR, RNAseq…), protein biochemistry, genetics (CrispR Cas9), gustatory electrophysiology, and behavioral tests (PER, Flypad) to accomplish this project. As a valuable member of the TPI team, Stéphane adeptly manages the molecular biology, radioactivity, and electrophysiology laboratories. With his extensive experience, he confidently supervises student trainees and has successfully co-directed two doctoral theses. Stéphane's expertise also extends to teaching molecular biology in the 3rd year of the Biological Engineering degree course in Medical Biology and Biotechnology at the Dijon IUT. Additionally, he serves as a highly respected expert on several ITRF recruitment juries.
