Activities

Research theme
Within the Taste and Food Center, Jérôme is the Quality Assurance Research (QAR) referent. Holding the authorization to operate autoclaves, the electrical authorization, being a first aid worker, premises evacuation agent, and authorised to wear an Isolating Respiratory Apparatus, all these authorizations are useful to him in his role as a Prevention Assistant (AP-CNRS). He is responsible for the analytical park of the TPI research team and chromatographic analyses. he participates in research activities by providing his knowledge and skills in managing drosophila strains and conducting larval and adult drosophila behavioral observation tests. He conducts analyses of cuticular hydrocarbons also known as pheromones by gas chromatography coupled with a Flame Ionization Detector (GC-FID) or a Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS). Using these analysis techniques, he studies the composition of the liquid secreted by drosophila when they are near a source of calorie-rich food called Calorie-Induced factor (CIF).
Scientific approach
Drosophila, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, behaviour, chemical analysis
Supervision
Jérôme supervised numerous students.
Key words
Taste, post-ingestion, neurosciences, Drosophila, behavior, metabolism, memory
